One of the reasons that the fuel tanks heat up much on K75s and K100s is that the return line from the fuel pressure regulator is routed right behind the left side of the radiator. This heats up the fuel. Here's a local guy's K75RT where a previous owner installed a fuel cooler on the return line to keep that from happening.

Another option for mitigating this is to install insulation around the return line like BMW did on some Ks. The BMW part number for this insulation is 13531460584. About $15 from a dealer.
