My fuel level sender was toast on my K11 but I was able to splice on the wires needed for my fuel pump. Cheapest new unit I could find is from EME for $280. You can pick up a generic chicom unit on fleabay for $10.

Obviouslly, this would not work as there is no pass -through for the fuel pump wires, but it got me wondering if there is an alternative.
The used senders seem to be as rare as hen's teeth.
I took mine apart but the windings were torn up and even the low fuel part was fubar.

It might be possible to find a compatible aftermarket sender. You might then be able to remove the rusted out OEM sender from the base plate and silver solder the new modified one to the old base plate. A lot of stuffing around, RBM might know of a compatible sender to look at.
Regards Martin.
