Title: Help identifying a wire.
Post by: Xero on December 19, 2019, 07:20:05 PM
Hi,

This must have come loose at one point and was found under the bike. Trying to figure out what this is exactly an where it came from. Pictures attached.

Thanks!

Not to be flip here, but what doesn't work?  That would give you a clue.

Based upon the colors, for a K75RT, the only circuit I found with violet/white identification is for the choke lamp, from the inst cluster to the 2-pin connector of the switch.

Unfortunately there is so many things not working right now it's hard to pinpoint a problem. :(
most problems are instruments and lights related, also fuel pump doesnt seem to work.

Do you have a wiring diagram? Here is another possibility.

Put the year of your moto's manufacture in the Bikes: line of your Profile.

I checked. Fan cable is there. So it's not that.

Is it violet/yellow, yellow/violet or something else? I'm guessing you have some optional extras.  What's the history of the bike?

The hazards are yellow/violet, but normally soldered to the switch.

Odd for a wire to fall off if it's connected to anything.  Could it be an extension to the fan or something somebody decided not to use and left  precipitously dangling in the bowels of the bike?

Extra fan? OE fan upgraded?

Extra fan? OE fan upgraded?
OR an extension chord for the fan? Having just remove a fan, there is not much spare wire under the gas tank to unplug the wire to remove the radiator.
