Wiring LED turn signal lights

As I can't find a replacement RS turn signal lens I'm thinking about wiring in some LED turn signals in there place. I've looked through some post but couldn't find the information I was looking for.  Do I need a resistor? Or can I wire them direct to the old wiring ?  Any help or ideas would be great.  I'd like to keep the RS mirrors as I like the look.
