WTB ....... Bar Risers for a K75
« on: April 11, 2017, 08:09:53 PM »
All this talk of handlebar positioning has me wanting to try a mild set of bar risers for my 1987 K75C.
Nothing severe but an inch up and back will allow me to stand on the pegs in a more upright posture.
Being nothing more than a trail rider for 40 some years I've grown used to standing on the balls of my feet when encountering tricky sections.
Love the bike and the speed it is offering, getting used to tucking in behind the cockpit, but sooner or later you end up taking a slow line.
Makes gravel seem like fun.

Does anyone have bar risers that are in excess to their needs?

You have just about everything don't you?

Rise and pull back on those if you could, hoping to use my original brake line and cables.

Got the risers mounted, now I need a longer master cylinder banjo line. The stock hose that came with the bike is 165mm.
Question... will the 249mm listed on Max be too long or just right? :dunno

It's over 3'' longer, can you not measure from the of your old one. Once you have the measurement you can get one made up to the correct length. I recently had one made for a custom application by a local brake specialist. I got it very cheap from a friend of a friend deal but another specialist quoted $70.00 Au. Take the old hose with you to get all the angle orientations right..

If the rise and pullback in the eBay ad are accurate and because that hose was fabricated for use with an RT bar which has a 3" greater rise and a two inch greater width than the bar you're using and because you're the one taking the risk, I'm reckoning you have more than enough length to make the transition.

Hose on order from Max, not in their stock but still available. We'll see if it ends up being a drop shipment from somewhere closer.
10 days at most without the K75, so I gotta run the BSA or Zundapp on my late night early morning outandabouts on HWY1.
They all need to be exercised anyways...

I think the extra inch of rubber will just end up as a small offset flex loop and shouldn't be a problem, mechanically or visually.

Thanks for your help gentlemen!  :2thumbup:

In an effort to be Don's doppelgänger, I found the same risers and brakeline as him from A&S.  Not as sweet a deal as his EBay find, but still...

A&S has a chart for hose fitment here:

Andy

Chart doesn't seem to jive with the hose I need and ordered but the shipping is FREE!
I'll keep them in mind next time before going to the Max.

One of our local brake shops will make you a brake line while you wait. Choice of rubber or stainless lined.

Warning...Your local brake shop may vary...

Thought about going to an AG Implement shop down in Santa Maria but went with the factory hose this time.
I will need to visit the hoseboys sooner or later to get the lift on my Cushman Turf Truckster to dump.

All I have to do now is wait.
