The main gasket in my k100 has failed, and I'm having trouble finding a replacement. They are not available at any of the online dealers that I've checked out.

Anyone know where I'd find one?

Your friendly BMW stealer won't have that gasket but they will gladly sell you the complete kit for $32.50.

Better hurry because the price will be going up soon.

The gasket (#8 ) is $11.13 at Max BMW. It is not just a flat piece of rubber.

A & S BMW, Beemer boneyard, Countryside BMW in Chicago usually have discounted parts.

If the main gasket failed,  the others are soon to follow.   Get the full kit and replace them all.

Just what I would do...

I was prowling YouTube just today- searched BMW k75 starter brushes replacement ( my current work) and came across videos by affordable BMW repair in cape cod I think the very origin but knowledgeable dude is Chris Harris.  Anywho one vid highlights R+R on gas caps and reference to his parts source.  PS : he did I nice job of detailing how to clean and lube the lock mechanism

Maybe a temporary cover - blue tack a plastic sheet over the fuel cap (approx the size of a learners magnetic square (obviously the tank is aluminium)).

Silastic perhaps - especially seeing you will be replacing the gasket.
