Thanks guys .. It's a lovely old English cream from the lotus colour chart .. Gloss black . I've got a vintage tan leather seat .. I'll post pics of her finished ASAP .. Should be today or tomorrow .. I'm very happy with the end result

Outstanding! Nice clean look, looks like what BMW would have done if they had built a "Sport" K. From the date of your initial thread in June, was this build completed in just Six weeks? What did it cost to bring it to this stage of excellence? You have a bike to be proud of!

Buying the bike .. All the parts ..labour ..tyres ..fluids ..service .. £3750 .. Bargain I think..

I sold all the stuff I took off raised neatly £400

I think the same ..if they did a K sport version ..id be happy if it looked like this ..

Funny how everybody is different. I did not like the number plate !

That particular detail has been taking up a lot of my brain space lately... how small can I "trim" the plate and still sneak through with a WOF?

One thing that I dislike about the K bike styling is the many different angles between seat and tank, frame tubes etc. I am hoping to tidy them into fewer lines in my build. Will see how it goes.

Like others have asked... how does it ride?

Yeah,I liked the number plate,mainly,because it's not the standard UK issue.They used to make us have massive yellow ones.
'already made a comment on thę side mount.
I spent years riding with mine upside down,to poke fun at the letter of the law,"clearly visible from behind".No one noticed enough to stop me.

Perhaps,you need a flickable spring loaded one that tucks up under the rear mudguard?Ive seen the NZ ones made into square format from standard row.It is LTSA property,though.

Guys I'm going to take more pictures now and Post ..

One question for advice .. The bike has come back with the new exhaust ..and us running v lean and revvy..

What's the experts advice to try and get her running at peak ??

I'm not an expert; I just Web-search and find what experienced wrenches have written then get moving.
If you're certain all your air passages were attached correctly and not leaking, that your valve clearances are within spec, that the spark plugs are in good condition, and that mouse turds and cigarette butts are not clogging the fuel lines, then try this.

That bike's got an attractive and assertive profile!

What did you use for seat padding? Are you intending to just increase your fish and chips intake and decrease physical activity to develop natural cushioning, or was it comfortable from the get-go?

Two levels of high dens foam.. Sandwiching a soft foam level .. It's actually pretty good ..

The builder took out the coolant overflow tank .. Said it wasn't really needed .. Is this true ? Or is it essential

Without it, I wouldn't know the status of my coolant supply until the cap blew off in conjunction with the overheating light warning of doom—and the parboiled right leg. Checking and topping up would be tedious. It's a closed and useful system. That's just mighty peculiar advice. I'm keeping mine on my beater and I suggest you remount yours somewhere.

cdrp uses a stainless tube with with interior lighting, fer gawdsake, on his K1. Look here and scroll down to the seventh photo.
