BamBam - you are quite the eBay sleuth, eh?

As for that being a deal, who know's? Its an auction with lot's of time left and no "Buy it now" option.

I predict that there are going to be heap's of cheap cafe bike's available in the future. Once owner/builders' tire of their custom bike's, its going to be difficult to find others' who have exactly the same taste's - and who feel like trusting all the prior-owners modification's.

@Laitch: Thank's for the earlier reference to the Apostrophe Protection Society. As you can see from my post. I have learned lot's from it.

In the early seventies I bought a 69 BSA Lightning converted to a café. I fell in love with the look. It was fine on short hops. The first long run 300 miles nearly killed me. Luckily when I bought the bike it came with most of the original parts. First to go were the strap-ons and bikini fairing, followed shortly by the seat. In the end it might not have looked as cool but it was definitely rideable and heaps more comfortable. I learned a lesson cool does not equal practical.

It's Luxury without the fussy Touring components, Robert. Luxury because it has more than 12mm of seat padding.

It's a society—not police—and filled with fellowship and heady conviviality of the righteous. Your grammatical iconoclasticism will be welcomed with unvarnished sincerity by the proselytes at the next meeting; however, the members of the Semicolon Defense League will be disappointed by it.

I have only ONCE see a hacked-up K with the tank looking like it belonged there.  BMW cleverly designed the gas holder to only look right with the original bodywork. On the other hand, this example has the desirable horizontal instrument pod and a rare sidestand lean diminishing block.

Also, it does look like it could be an 87 but it has the brace-less 85 fork and 1-piece front fender.  Perhaps for that cafe fork flex?
