Never been happy about the brush paint job done to the swingarm of my otherwise immaculate 1100LT.
I finally bit the bullet, and got stuck in.
I decided not to remove the swingarm, and do the whole job in situ.
That does necessitate removal of the R/H footrest plate and all that goes with it (nightmare), as well as the wheel, complete mudguard, clutch cable, caliper, abs sensor, shock and torque arm.
I'm so pleased with the result.
I used Hammerite satin black, which goes on beautifully without running, straight onto a cold but properly prepped surface.
The only problem is that it takes 1 - 2 weeks to cure.
I even managed to order a replacement yellow abs sticker for the final drive from BMW.
All in all, very happy.
