Yes, please. There is a Wolfman Ranier bag on CL that I've been eyeing but I'm not sure if it will fit the relatively flat tank of the RT.

If anyone has any experience, please chime in!

On the recomendation of another K11 owner, I bought this Roadgear bag and I've been very happy with it.

I have a cheapo "BILT" bag I bough before a trip last year. Works okay. I plan to add a few straps to make it hold better, and make a skeleton for it out of some LDPE.

I like the Bags Connection Enduro model that I bought from Twisted Throttle.

It mounts securely (one strap around the head tube and one on either side that loops around the frame). It's easy to get out of the way for fueling (just unclip the side strap on one side and flop it over). It expands so you can ride with it big or small as needed. It has a waterproof liner sack. It has a map pocket on top, and small pockets on three sides (the back pocket is perfect size for glasses case). It's made well. It fits the tanK. In fact, I can't think of anything I don't like about it.

I have the Motocentric Mototrek bag . Great construction, lots of pockets and pass thrus for hydration bag and mp3 player.also has a rain cover and straps to convert it to a backpack. So when I stop for a burger or something I just unclipthe bag and attach the backpack straps . Also easy to flip it up out of the way when I fill the tank.

Will do. But, it is doubtful I'll get down to Roseburg (couple hundred miles give or take) anytime soon.

Anyone familiar with this bag? it has a "base" that has magnets and straps, but i just don't know how much it relies on the non-functional (for a k-bike) magnets.

looks like it has great flexibility in terms of strap configuration, but i'd like to hear if anyone has used, or tried to use one of them.

I've got some of their bags for my bicycle, and the waterproofness (proofiness?) is awesome, as is the ruggedness.

Going rate for an OEM tank bag in good used shape with rain cover and base with good zippers is $125ish although they sometimes go for less on Fleabay.

Be sure to get one that has a K75/K100 base as the K1/K1100 ones have a different base and side strap attachment configuration.

Short answer: No.

The tanks are exactly the same. But the side panels are not. A K1100 tank bag has a different base and attaches differently.

K75s and K100 use the same tank bag.

K1s and K1100s use the other one.

I'm loving it -- it's big and to JO's point you can bump your hand into it during extremely tight cornering, but 99% of the time you dont' even know it's there - large and cavernous -- mounting is a bit tedious to get right, but once you do it's rock solid - easy on and off for fuel fills too.

Yesterday I was at Santa Rosa BMW in Windsor Ca. They cover Sonoma County and all way up the coast to the OR border. Their counterman told me about a company called RKA. Custom tank bags and such. Anyone ever deal with RKA?

My kids gave me a RKA tank bag (as a present) for my K and my Kawa. I drove up to RKA (Saturday appointment - Northern CA) and met both Richard and Kathy, they are super people. Richard has some history with the K. My bag was built to fit both my bikes and it is serving me well to date. The bag supports the equipment that I use, as RKA advertises it would. Really makes it simple for me to transfer devises from bike to bike. Bag quality is great. :2thumbup:

What is his history with the K?

Everything seems to be made in China these days.
Or they are making things out of poorer grade components to keep the cost down.
It is nice to hear when someone makes a great product.
Local business, American made, looks like RKA is now on my list of tank bags for consideration.
