New K100RS owner in Puget Sound

Just bought a 1987 K100RS.

Had a great longish ride first day, dropped it the second day backing out of my garage when I accidently pulled in the clutch! :mbird
Fortunately the bike came with engine guards so no serious damage.  Mirror popped off and broke a turn signal paddle, - that was all.  Live and learn.
Bike is heavy, had to use a cushioned steel rod jammed behind steering head and under handle bar to lift it up, but that worked well without doing any damage.
Bike has after market stainless steel exhaust, BMW saddle bags, new tires & battery, everything works and 28,000 miles on the clock with dealer 24,000 mile service done.
Have been riding since 1962 when I started on a then old BSA 250 flat head single.

Question, - would like to lower the seat height a bit.  Do not want to mess around with suspension changes.  Any ideas on getting a lower/thinner seat.  Now has a Corbin seat that is super comfortable but my legs are a bit on the short side.  Do not want to drop it again!

I am 5'6" tall and have no problem with my K75 with standard shaved seat.If you don't want to modify your bike,raise the rider.Buy a pair of boots with the thickest soles you can find,this can give you up to 1" plus.If you want more height buy a pair of shoe lifts,this can give you another 1" plus.If you go the lift route buy them first and try them in the boots before you buy them.Easier to make short people taller than tall people shorter.

Great idea!  I like the shoe lift idea, probably would not take much to feel more comfortable when stopped.
My wife would probably like a person with more stature anyway!
The other option would be a "shaved" seat, but I do not want to give up comfort. 
Right now I am on my tippy toes with both feet down, - I am 5'9" if I stretch, - but my legs may be a bit shorter than normal.

OK, - posted a couple of pictures from my garage.  Fortunately there is no "bad" side on this bike.  It looks good to me from all angles even though it does show numerous scuff marks, scrapes, blisters and cracks in the paint here and there when you get close. Should have new turns signal switch paddles next week and then I will feel more comfortable riding it. Many  drivers do not seem to notice hand signals, especially when it is raining. That was the only real damage when I dropped it, - impressive !!!

If you can wait or ride to Albany Oregon, Donn Weber at Premier Motorworks does custom seats for $450.  Takes most of the day, but you will pay almost that much for a corbin and he fits it to your butt!!

Only a bit over 200 miles for me, would be nice ride. 
Planning to fix/change seat sometime next year so time is not an issue.
If it can be done in one day on the spot, that is a definite advantage.
