Tire Mounting

Took my rims with the old tires on them to the local Honda dealer so that they could mount a new set of tires and balance them.  I marked the rims with a sharpe with an arrow indicating the direction of rotation.

When I picked them up I didn't check them until I got home and found that they had mounted the front tire backwards.  I looked at the rim and it is identical either way and looks like it will mount with no problem. 

Does anyone no of any problem running it the way they mounted them?  The rotors will now be reversed is the only problem I see.


Bike is a 1985 K100RS.
Any feed back from the pros will be greatly appreciated.

incompetence and indifference are two things that can not be tolerated in a mechanical service operation...

this has happened to me... butts i check them before leaving their property...

one place i had them order the most expensive motobrick tiors and metal valve stems... when i returned to pick them up the valve stems were rubber... i showed the man... he said they lost the metal valve stems... this was a pay in advance job becaise those vr rated 880s run 4 hundert a set and they didnt wanna be stuck with them...

i had them remove the tiors and valve stems and refund my money...  left with tiorless wheels... a year later they still had those once mounted 880s in stock...

a bmw joint in portland mounted a wrong way rear... a bmw joint in pomona mountd a wrong way front... both times they made it right with new tiors... asking for their certificate of insurance getts their attention... never went back to either joint...

anyway...

id go there in person and ask them for a copy of their certificate of insurance...

then i would show them the arrow on the wheel and the arrow on the tior...

then id ask them their opinion...

when they offer to put the tire on the right way... id tell them i will take them up on their offer... butts they needs to supply a new tior... cause the wrong way tior... its no longer new... i dont wants a used tior...

they must pay for their incompetence or they will be indifferent on down the road... an hour labor and the cost of the tior... not much... butts the big daddy aints gonna be amused...

Had the same thing happen to me , didn't sit well with me. So I swapped the rotors around before I mounted the wheels. I suspect it would cause a noise associated with the different pattern on the rotors drilled holes. Better safe than sorry.

If the tire is directional, well that's a no brainer.

With or without ABS.

I'd make them re-mount the tire the correct orientation.......

Just like the rest of the replies, it happened to me. Rode the bike back up to the shop and had them do it right. Father and son type workshop. Son was pissed at the old man for making  the mistake. Why should you have to deal with it when you pay to have it done right? Kenray in Katy Tx.
