I put 10w in my '86 K100 RT. She seems to do fine with it. Firm, but not brutal, ride.

thanks for replies all , clymer and beemer manual differ on amounts 440ml clymer and 330ml bmw no real mention of weight in either so thanks again . startin to like beemer maintenance !!! 91 k75rt

Thanks for the link johnny - I'm going to try some Lucas synthetic 10w (with some kind of seal-saving magic) in the 75s (was on-sale at Canadian Tire!) - usually run 10w Bel-ray in the Goose.

clymer manual did say 5w oil after all. i put 10w bel ray in 91 k75rt seems to be all good ! thanks to all who replied !
