Frt brake master cyl leak 94 k75S w/ABS 31800 miles
« on: June 18, 2015, 10:47:46 AM »
Rat farts.

The lever still holds pressure and the leakage is negligible, but getting worse.

I have read the posts by Drake, etc regarding rebuilding, but in my situation and circumstances I think a straight replacement with new will be better for me. (no shop, no car, limitied time and hard to get small parts to tinker with.)

Beemer boneyard has a magura for 175.

Anything I should have on hand besides fresh fluid or anything to watch out for when I attempt this? First time.
Flushed the whole system using a mighty vac within the last month.

Many thanks

If it's leaking at the piston, it's rebuild or replace time, I'd say. Unless you have a decent workspace, that pretty much cuts out option 1.

Replacement is pretty straightforward.  Replacement is your best option under the circumstances.

I pulled the trigger and went with the new Magura cylinder.

The old MC was still holding pressure and not leaking profusely but replacement is safer bet for me not worrying over catastrophic failure on my upcoming month long tour.  :riding:
Installed today, no prob, and really lucked out because it rained torrentially ten minutes after completion   :2thumbup: ....circumstances of urban living and wrenching outdoors at curbside.

Thanks Guys!

Cheers
