ya, I would go for it anyway. I had a problem like that when I ran my k 100rs (85, btw) out or very nearly out of gas. replace the fuel filter ( it is in the tank). and check all those goofy hoses under and around the air box. I ran sea foam through mine ( thru the gas tank) and it finally cleared itself up. make sure you have a good battery in it and if youre not sure, take the old one to a batteries plus store. they will check it for no charge. I don't work for them, but I have their "top line" battery in all my bikes and have never had a problem. these bikes seem especially sensitive to low voltage...probly has to do with the old f.i. systems. just a thought and not necessarily right. good luck!
