i have read that the load shed relay cuts out all the lights and just sends power to the starter and essentials when you push the start button

any help much needed!!!

Your description of what the load shed relay does is not exactly correct.  The load shed relay does cut the power to non-essentials such as the lights. It does this so that the limited power of the battery is available completely for the starter, ignition, and fuel injection. But it does not SEND power to the starter.  The power to the starter is sent by the starter relay.

thanks for your help INGE K.

i now have a k 75 that runs!!! i tested the start relay and it was fine, i then tested the ground for the relay again and it was faulty then made a new ground as could not trace the earth wire, and  "hay presto " it fired up.
now gonna give it a full service and put some miles on the clock.

This is why I in a earlier post asked how you did test the ground connection, not an unusal problem this.

The problem is in the ignition ECU (or its connections).....the ignition ECU grounds the coil on both the
starter relay and the FI relay.

If you now push the starter button when the engine is running the starter will engage, when the relay is
grounded via the ignition ECU that won't happen.

wow i do intend to understand the technical dater in your last message as i am new to these bikes my brain is full at the mo . i did try to follow the ground wire but the wire won, so took a risk and grounded the relay , so i will have to avoid the start button  when riding ,
DID YOU INVENT THE K SEIRIES
