Rear Wheel Shim

I have a RS/RT rear wheel fitted on my LT. It offsets to the left of center of the bike. The shim offsets it a little more. I was putting the rear wheel back on and wondered if putting the shim in there was really neccessary. What's it for? It's only 2mm thick so it's not that big a deal to put it back in there if it's required...

ive run with 0 spacers 1 spacers 2 spacers 3 spacers 4 spacers... no difference in handling or tior wear... some tiors will be good with no spacer... some tiors needs 2 spacers...

id take it out and like what scott_ was getting at... ride it till the tior is hawt and check to see if its rubbing fully loaded with you and your woman on there...
