Waterpump/Oil Pump rebuild questions
« on: May 25, 2014, 01:00:02 PM »
So I have it all torn apart now and plan on going to the local bmw shop to get all the parts unless anyone knows of a good kit online? I had a few additional questions for people that know these bikes better than me.

What is the sensor that goes into the oil pump? Oil pressure or oil temp?

Does the ECU need the data from that sensor?

Does the ECU need to see speed from the rear speed sensor?

I am going to be replacing the stock cluster soon and am wondering what I can get rid of and what I should keep.
If you're not first, you're last.

If you see only one sensor, it's oil pressure.

Does the ECU need the data from that sensor?
No.

Does the ECU need to see speed from the rear speed sensor?
No.

Go to the K100 Forum, and search Acewell.....and you find some info about mounting a non OEM instrument.

Check the K75 Re-wiring and Brickuino pages in my blog; I replaced the cluster on my bike with a Motogadgets speedo.
