Is opaque oil sight glass any indicator of non-regular oil changes?

Would an opaque oil sight glass on a 1992 K75 be an indicator if infrequent oil changes?  I've seen bikes the same age that have nicely transparent ones, and some are quite opaque.  Could be that the some have been replaced, and some not, of course.

The really clear ones have probably been replaced. Mine's original and it's discolored, too. That's on my list of very important  things I'll get around to probably never.

mine was hard to read so i made a dipstick... now its impossible to read and i change my oil once a year...

Changing the sight glass is easy.

During an oil change, either pull it out buy screwing into it and then pulling on the screw with pliers, or knock it out from behind with something through the oil filter cover after you remove the filter.

Clean the sight glass port very well and dry thoroughly, then push/tap the new sight glass in. Add fresh oil.

Tim -- if you tap it out from behind do you think it could be cleaned/polished and reused or is it a single-install part?

Age and/or synthetic oils will cloud the sight glass.  IBMWR site has the step by step replacement for sure.  It may also be in the liberry
