Help me I.D. this leak.please =)

Like the title says, I have a leak.
Oil probably.

Is this a common one?

Clean it up thoroughly and watch to see where it is exactly coming from. Hard to tell. Not common IMHO

That High up and back. Starter o-rings or alternator area?

Maybe the alternator seal? Oil gets out and is spun off by the alternator drive. Only thing I could think of that would get oil that high up.


Check to see if the stuff on the right is brake fluid.


The other thing could be an overfilled transmission spitting it out the vent.

I actually had the exact same leak pop up last week. I pulled the alternator as it was my first guess, but it wasn't very wet by the drive dog. When I popped the transmission fill plug there was quite a bit of pressure built up inside the transmission so I was thinking it might be a faulty transmission breather valve? I dunno yet, I cleaned the areas up and am waiting until the wetness reappears--- updates to come...

There isn't any valve in the gearbox breather, you find it under the starter.
I would guess that a lot of old debris under the starter covers the plastic cap bottom/sides.

Or the drain hose has come of the accumulator tray underneath the fuel tank spigots (the two drain pipes) and what you look at is fuel/drain water. Nothing else really can drain on the top frame bolt like it shows.
