You might also want to look at your manual and see what is included in the level 1 and level 2 services. At least it would help to not forget or miss something that could be important.
It should not be a substitute for first hand information about your specific bike, however. In other words, if it does not indicate a fuel filter, for example, but you know yours is old, or your tank has bits of crap in the bottom (you just never run it down that far, generally), go ahead and replace the filter. You get the picture.
