To convert to regular height, you need more than the seat . . . the brain box is different, side covers, etc. Best is if you find somebody with a regular height seat who wants to swap the whole setup. The MaxBMW parts fiche is a good place to study up on questions like this.

I assumed it would be easier to move to a high seat than to move to a low seat. The brainbox doesn't really need to be replaced does it?

Side covers are the killer part t.o get matching color. You can leave low seat brain box but why. If you swap the other guy will need the low seat brain box.

Swapping is sure the way to go, but Tree House is uncertain he wants to keep the high seat. I say, buy a seat, try it, and if you don't like it put your stuff back on and resell the seat.

Started as stock 16v K100RS with Paralever. I changed the lower fairing bits and belly pan for 11 hundert parts. Pretty easy swap. Except for the belly pan bracket, everything matched up to the existing fairing parts and mounts.

The belly pan mount was knocked up in an evening out of a chunk of stainless steel.

Here is my 93 K75S. My friend bought it new. I got it from him in 09 with 29k on it. Just turned 64k last night. Paint additions were done to cover previous owners jacket zipper scratches. It is a great bike. I changed the bars to make it work better for a 70+ yrs old guy. HID lights for deer collision prevention. Replaced all rubber hoses etc last year. This is my second K75, I put 80k on the first one with only a oil/water pump rebuild, clutch and new trans input shaft in repairs. My other bike is a 10 R1200RT. Can't decide which I like best. K bike is just such a sweet ride even at 22 yrs old.

here's the latest addition to my stable:
94 K1100LT, acquired from a gent in Orlando, FL.
bike was hit in a parking lot as was the gent (recovering well he says).
Bad news: total loss of front end, "triple-clamp" cracked, frame ruined, sad to look at.
Good news: lots of salvageable goodies plus some nice extras (cruise control, works shock, sealed battery) and, according to previous owner, everything worked! Saddle bags and top-case in good shape also.
Bike has 52K on odometer so lots of life left in the drive-train and accessories.
I'll be parting it out over the winter, keeping some and selling some.

Action shots to follow! So far the only action has been around town, around campus (Auburn University), and to dinner and to the store.

Already putting the beastie to work! Two-up, even!

..but someone knocked it off the stand in Sainsbury's car park necessitating a (paid for) re spray..

As the other 3 K's I had were black, black it had to be..

Via the Alps? Just kidding, funny how a trip on a bike to the grocery is suddenly fun instead of drudgery in a cage. I ride Wakonda Beach Drive on the way to the grocery store and it just makes my day. Nice setup !

Here's my 87RS with chair I had a few years back.

I bought it cos my missus is disabled but it wasn't long before it was too difficult to get her in and so it had to go.
