Hi All,

Been riding a while.
Have owned this K75 since 2000 or so.
It's a 1991 K75RT. 35,500 miles. Smooth as a phart.

Hello Wayne, yes I've been on the GL/CX Forum for quite a while.
I still have a GL650I that I ride as my 'vintage' bike.
Also have a R1100R that is a totally awesome machine.
But the K75 has been with me the longest and it is my cool-weather tourer.
Currently planning a trip to the Smokey Mtns with it in mid-October.

Here's mine, '93 LT. I have the history back to the original owner including a down to the last nut bolt rebuild in 2007. There was nothing wrong but the owner wanted to check everything out. So the frame was stove enameled and stainless fasteners used throughout, a new clutch and all rubber parts were replaced. I'm keeping it. Currently 120K and running nicely.

Here's my 1994 K75S, and another of both it and my 1993 K75. The black one was my first motorcycle. I also have a 2000 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport that is gorgeous.

Spring arrived for a day up here so I took the opportunity to go on quick 200 mile burger beer run into Nebraska. 2 K-bikes out of 16 showed up , mine and a K100RT. They got more attention and looks than the new stuff, loved it.

Is your 1100RT kinda cream colored?  With those pinstripes it looks so nice.

It started out as a metallic blue K1100LT. The color is now Mini Cooper Antique White which is a light cream color. The pin stripes are black and were hand painted, not stickers. I can't take credit for the paint job, It is nice and know it took a lot of work.

Stick on pinstripes are so 20th century.  I think they went out with polyester leisure suits and 8 tracks.

Thinkin' hard on having my hunnerd striped if I can find someone good to do the deed.

Thanks for the offer, but I want to get it done locally.  Only been looking for a couple weeks.  Probably get it done when the weather warms up a little bit more.

Hi everyone, I am a new member of Motorbrick, let me tell you my story, I live in Monterrey, Mexico, I have a Kawasaki Kz550, which I rebuild into a cafe racer, but it is finally finish, so I started looking for a new bike, I wanted to build a R series , but surfing the internet I found some K bikes, and it was like a magnet, a nice bike, very different, uncommon, a real challenge!, so I started looking for one, after checking some, last Sunday came along a K1, 1989, few miles , very nice, mechanical and body, and at an irresistible  and unbelievable price, $1,800.00, I had a remote idea of what the bike was, so I googled it and it really surprised me, so on Tuesday I took a plane to Guadalajara to see the bike, and got it!!! when I ask the owner why was he selling it, he told me that the bike was a present form his older brother who didn't use it any more and had been stored for some 15 years, and he really didn't like the bike because it look like it came from a Power Ranger comic or Star Wars, so he decided to sell it and buy something more like a H.D. in a few words, he had no idea of what the bike was...
Now, I donīt know what to do, the bike is great!!! (no front brakes and some minor issues),
So I am asking for advice... shall I restore it to its original condition?, turn it into a Kafe Racer?... re sell it at a nice price?  how rare is this bike?
Who is a good K bikes parts supplier?

Please don't cafe that k! The K1 is not everyone's cup of tea, but it's special.... if you whack off the back of the frame and put on strap-ons, it won't be special any more.

I fully agree.  It would be blasphemy to chop up the iconic and rare K1.   :nono

that ketchup & mustard K1 is a jewel!    Keep it original, it's the one K bike that will go up in value.
