Battery replacement
« on: July 05, 2012, 08:30:40 PM »
Hi Fellow Brickheads,

It looks as if the battery that the PO put in my bike is now dead. It is a Yuasa #53030. I do not know when it was installed.
It's weird, I live in one of the best places in California, but no one in the area has the proper battery in stock.
I have a basic K75 with ABS and a low seat. With all the bikers in the region, you think someone would have a replacement battery. What do you guys recommend as a replacement?

Odyssey PC 680

Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

I have a Motobatt in all 4 bikes and am very happy with them but not sure if they are available stateside with that name.
I know of several guys who have an Odessey and are quite happy with them, they have a reputation for a long life.

The last 2 batteries that I have purchased were Westco's.
I bought the 1st one in '05, and installed it in the '97, and it's still going strong.
The BMW battery that was in the '95 was installed in '08 and it started dying quickly this spring so I replaced it in May.

My Westco lasted 7 years.  Replaced it with an Odyssey PC680 and it seems to be a fine battery.  Do a search on Amazon, should be able to find one for close to $110

Just replaced a 9 year old BMW battery with an Odyssey P 680. Hope it lasts that long.
