Clutch Tool
« on: June 07, 2012, 01:02:50 AM »
Hey K People

I have a 1994 K 1100 RS. Long project trying to get at the SPRAG.
I stripped out two bolt heads on the outer pressure plate. What a project to get them out, but I did get them out, after using a dremel tool to file down the bolt head and finally using an extraction bit.
Now I am at the clutch.

Anyone have the tool that holds the clutch in place so that it won't turn while I remove the 30mm bolt that holds the clutch in place?
I would be glad to buy it or rent it from someone.

I don't recall seeing (didn't actually look) any line up marks on my clutch plate (like the reds ones in this picture), nor did I put any on there.
Am I headed for trouble putting this puppy back together?
Is there some kind of timing routine that I will need to do?

The red marks I don't believe are factory, there is/were however white marks on the carrier, pressure plate and outer cover. I read something in the Clymer manual about spacing these marks apart ( under the clutch section) as they are weighted and could cause a vibration if improperly aligned. I don't know how much of a difference it will actually make.

I added the red marks so that I didn't have to rely on the wimpy white ones from the factory.
