12-03-11(& 12): MotoCanyons galore!
« on: March 14, 2012, 12:44:00 PM »

Sunrise in The Coachella Valley at 6:45am before slabbing it 125 miles to meet Johnny in Tujunga:

Johnny protects his Motronic from gamma rays:

Little Tujunga Canyon Road:

Johnny fine tuning the Works shock:

Then Sand Canyon and Vazquez Canyon to Boguet Canyon:

Johnny at the end of Spunky Canyon Road:

Then San Francisquito Canyon Road & Lake Elizabeth Road:

To Pine Canyon Road:

Heading north to the Gorman Cheevron:

Lockwood Valley Road:

How JO washes his bike between car washes:

Lunchtime on 33:

Elk/smoked bacon burger:

JO had the last piece of blackberry pie so there wasn't any left for me:

JO racing a dirt bike on 33:

Then Cerro-Noroeste Road.  This is an absolutely fantastic sweeper road that rides like it was built for K1100s:

Heading back to Gorman:

Johnny watching a Harry Potter movie on his Droid:

Off to more canyons:

Back at Lake Elizabeth:

Soledad Canyon:

This rollover happened right before we got there.  Fortunately nobody was too seriously injured:

Aliso Canyon:

The cords were showing on my front tire by now so we headed down Angeles Crest and down I-5 to JO’s place in Anaheim:

Mmmmm…. Jumbo tacos:

No more turns left in this puppy:

I got to see JO’s new truck.  Only 1,200 miles:

And it shows:

JO recently had a set of new PR2s installed about 20 miles away and his old front still had some miles on it so my first stop of the morning for a tire swap was:

The nice part of having a used tire put on was that I didn’t have to scrub it in. Thanks, Johnny.  I took the Palms to Pines Highway back to Rancho Mirage.  I didn’t’ take many pictures since I’ve ridden this road quite a bit:

The viewpoint on 74 overlooking The Coachella Valley.  Only the granny knot and a little lanesplitting to make it home:

Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.
