Fitting a 1995 K1100LT faring to 1986 k75c
« on: March 16, 2022, 01:48:13 PM »
As the title implys, I'm looking to fit a K1100LT faring to my K75c. Is this even possible, and if so, what parts/hardware/plastics are needed to complete the swap?

It's POSSIBLE but will be complicated and require you to make some custom side brackets because the frame is different due to the "missing" front cylinder. You'll also need a K100/K1100 tank and radiator.

Better idea is to buy a K75RT.

I'm thinking about just using the tubular fairing mount from a K1100 LT, but it appears to me that the upper fairing itself might mount fine?

But, as the question mark implies, I'm not sure. Would the upper or just the mount really work on a K75?

1995 K75 RTP, 1995 K75 RT, 1993 K75, two K75 frames, 1 fully assembled engine from airbox to exhaust tip and enough fairings and  parts to build another K. Soon.  ;)

The steering head bracket will bolt right on.

You'd still need to make custom brackets at the front upper corners of the frame.

You'd also need to do some custom wiring for the electric windscreen.

And the K1100LT fairing won't fit inside because the K75C has a different shaped gas tank.  (The K75RT uses a K100/K1100 gas tank - different then the K75 standard/C/S tank.)

Example: I built a K75 frankenbrick with a K1100RS fairing.  It uses a K100 tank so that the inner fairing fits the tank.
