All you need is something simple like this to do a compression test

Compression tester

Just disconnect the coils, take out one spark plug at a time and crank the engine with the throttle wide open.


As long as you are at 120+ psi in each cylinder you are ok but even less is ok as long as they are all about the same.  Less than 100 psi would not be great.
