DIY Caliper Mounts for Aux Lights - Version 2
« on: October 06, 2011, 05:41:22 PM »
These are some small caliper mounts that I made for the $15 Wal-Mart fog lights.  I upgraded the bulbs to some inexpensive yellow Xenon H3 bulbs I scored on Fleabay so that they stand out better than the halogen bulbs that they come with.

I spent some time looking at various aluminum brackets on Fleabay until I found something that looked to be about the right size and were nice and thick so they'd be sturdy:

I trimmed them down with a metal cutting blade on a table saw and then drilled some holes in them that lined up with the mounting holes for fog light brackets:

Then I had them powder coated:

Given their thickness I replaced the caliper bolts to mount them with some bolts that are 5mm longer. (BMW Part 07119901064)  Here's what they looked like installed:

On the road:

Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.
