Want to convert a K75S to a plain K75

Wanted- top case (BMW type, BMW mount is on the bike, or as an alternate, a GIVI top case mount w/o the case ( I'll use a case that I already have

I see you're looking for an aero screen and bar backs. Before you go on a hunt and fork over cash for a solution that may not work...

I have both and having both means the wind will be directed right into your face if you're 5'8" to 6' You'd likely need a laminar lip on the top of the screen. I'd use a shorter screen to put the wind on your chest or pass on the bar backs with a taller screen. That will place your upper body a little lower. I have a Shoei modular helmet and it whistles like crazy. Your screen would have to be stupidly high to solve this issue. The wind would be better on your chest and have a helmet that's really good at wind management.

So...
Lower screen with a bar back. Wind hits Chest
Higher screen without a bar back. Wind *might* go over your head.
Both: Get a laminar lip or equivalent. Wind *might* go over your head.

Maybe other people have a different experience or advice. This particular version of a bike isn't going to be easy to mitigate wind but that combination may not help.

if you're looking for a slightly more comfortable position barbacks made a world of difference for me.  But as mentioned they can put your head in the middle of stock windshield turbulence.  I have a Aeroflow on my S and my ears are quite happy at speed with my Schuberth modular.  Try a wanted ad in ibmwr.org too, you'll probably need a longer brake hose from the master but the cables should be ok.

Going through the same issue.  Mine came with barbacks and a standard screen.I'm 6'1" and am using a Shoei RF 1200. The wind noise is terrible , even with plugs. . I ordered a Gufftason 22" screen and it didn't hardly help Seems that BECAUSE OF THE ANGLE the screen would have to be crazy high to be effective.  I'm going to try taking the barbacks off to see if that helps. If not, thought about cutting down the 22' SCREEN to shorter than stock {12"] TO SEE IF THAT HELPS keep me in clean air. I'll keep you posted.

This is my solution.  Seems to work okay.  Puts most of the wind on my chest.  Took about 4" off an old screen so I could save the nice one that came with the bike.

I must be of a particular size; 5' 11" with a long reach, because the stock K75S windscreen and bars work perfect for me.  Today's 250+ mile ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway and across central Virginia was in comfort with no buffeting.

Took the barbacks off and tried the stock and 23" screens. Much less comfortable without the barbacks and still lots of buffeting. put the barbacks back on and took the screen off. bettter, so I'm going to cut the tall screen to 12". Hoping it will give me cleaner air.

At 66 years old, I finally have to admit sitting more upright is better for me.
That & the surprisingly loud wind noise w/ buffeting forces some kind of change.
6 feet tall and shrinking.

The bike is mint w/ very low miles, but just doesn't suit me. Any one needing a pretty perfect S fairing assembly w/ lower fairing willing to trade the parts I need?

You might want to consider barbacks and a taller windscreen, or even C bars and keep the fairing.  It does offer more protection than the unfaired bikes.  The barbacks and an Aeroflow work fine for me at 3 score and 5

You could rustle up bar backs, or maybe some bars that get close the the same position, maybe from a K75C. Taking the fairing off isn't going to do much for your riding position.

rather than stripping a very nice S, it would be much easier, and cheaper, to just buy a plain K75 and sell the S.  heck,you would probably make money in the deals....

The 75s in my opinion is the pick of the litter. I am just short of your age and have no problem clocking up miles on mine. However it has had a few easily reversible modifications. With Jo's help the seat was lowered and repadded. I have a standard seat in the same colour as a spare. The standard bars have been rotated and moved back which involved extending the dash pad brackets. It's your choice to destroy, cut up or do whatever to a excellent survivor. However there are heaps of bricks out there that would more suitable for this. They are getting rare especially in that condition please find an alternative.

Thanks everyone, I'll take all that advice into account.
I have no intention of destroying the 75s that I was so lucky to find. Just trying to make it more suitable for my riding style.
