For all those that need instrument cluster repair
« on: July 24, 2016, 08:58:07 PM »
My odometer stopped working, and I also needed a front bezel that wasn't cracked (my forth over the decades).  Palo Alto Speedometer rebuilt my cluster- I think they had it for three weeks.  Odometer gears were practically crumbling into dust (they sent the old ones back).  My clock and gear indictor were "bleeding" and they replaced them too.   I remember it was pricey, but don't remember the total.  They were also clear with me at the time that they can't fix the intermittent speedometer issue.  Not affiliated, but a satisfied customer.

To update this:

The way that we usually handle this type of a repair is that you would ship your BMW speedometer to us for a free bench test.  Once we have evaluated it, we will call you with the repair cost, and turn around time.  The odometer and trip odometer repair can cost about $285.00, plus shipping.  The gear indicator repair can add $95.00 to the to price quoted above.  The turn around time is about 2 to 3 weeks.

If you decide to send us your K-Bike speedometer, please be sure to attach a copy of this email for reference, or a short note with contact info and instructions.  All of our work comes with a 2 year warranty.
