Gents,
K1100LT, '92.
I've had a mirror pod knocked off twice recently; once deliberately by a "White Van Man," while filtering (he stopped, wound down the window and smiled while a Polish lorry driver slowly ran over the mirror), and last evening by a dithering hen pheasant which decided (all too late) to take flight.
So, time for tethers!
Forums consulted, stainless steel 100lb fishing trace wire bought on FleaBay, but a couple of outstanding questions please for those who have gone before:
1. Can one attach each end of the tether without having to drill a hole into either the mirror pod or the fairing; if so, how?
2. Has anyone put the fairing-end eyelet under the fairing/male/spigot but outside the fairing (and thereby raising the spigot proud of the fairing by the thickness of the wire); does having one spigot slightly "higher" than the other two affect the fitment of the mirror pod to the bike?
I would be grateful for some advice from other "Brickies."
