Hello,
I have a 1993 K75S in great shape, except that the clutch and input splines are shot (one is stripped, the other is worn out).  I bought it about a year ago, and it apparently hadn't been lubed properly, so wore out even after I lubricated them. BMW shop says it will be really expensive to replace all necessary components, but having rebuilt a Yamaha FJ before, I have a decent level of comfort with tearing apart and fixing components on bikes. I have three questions for those with more experience than I on this:
1) is replacing these parts of the transmission a high experience type of task?
2) would it be better to get a used transmission on eBay, through here, or a similar marketplace and just replace the whole transmission instead of individual parts (cheaper potentially, but I don't necessarily know the state of the used transmission and would probably still need to open it t relube it anyway)?
3) is there anyone who lives around Atlanta GA that might be interested in helping me? I can pay for time. Having had the transmission go out on me once during rush hour on the highway, I would like to ensure I don't mess up the repairs.

Thank you!
Joel
