My BMW K100rs 16v 1990. It has a k1100LT fairing. I love this bike! I've had it since March this year and it is the most, all round good fun, reliable, fast, comfy bike I've ever had.
I could do with some advice on how to mount Krauser K2 tragkorbs on it. I have the mounts and everything but the destructions are confusing... some pics of what it should look like at the end would be ace!

Hello & welcome! Can't help re:fitting K2 tragkorbs,in your place, since bike has BMW tragkorb mount rails, I would have bought a pair of BMW tragkorbs from ebay as they seem to sell for reasonable money.

Hi Drut, Yes it does have the original BM mounts and I have the cases to go with; but they're smaller, not waterproof, awkward to use etc and I wanted to put the Krausers on (which came of my old Suzuki GSX1100f) cos I think they're bigger and better.
Krauser sent me a diagram with the pieces to fit the BM but it's not very clear.

I'll be selling the original cases and mounts when I'm done.

I'm now in the process of changing the front brake master cylinder cos it picked up a leak on a trip last week. Doesn't seem to affect the braking but it's pished out brakefluid all over the tank and me. That should happen maybe today or if not next week... freetime ain't free.

If you are still in trouble on the tragkorbs let me know. I have the K2 on the LT and when I got the RT it came with BMW tragkorbs which I rapidly disliked. So I got a full Krauser K2 kit, arms, fitting kit and the tragkorbs, all done by myself so if you have the correct bits let me know.

If you have the K2 rails you will also need a fitting kit.

krauser.motorrad@t-online.de Sabine Krauser. I got a fitting kit from them and for €65 back in 2014.

If you don't have the rails you will need a pair but these are the same for all bikes and come with the indicators. If you have a pair check for cracks near the bend. They are very sturdy but if you get a rear end shunt they crack or break...

I will have to look for my fitting instructions. I have them on the 92LT and the 84RT and they are different due to frame and footrest hanger differences from 85 onwards. There are three mounting points on each side. There is a stay goes through the rear cowl which requires enlarging one of the three the indicator holes after you take off the rear indicators. The forward top stay bolt is is in place of the BMW tragkorb forward stay. From the bottom of each tragkorb arm there is a strut, about 4" long, goes to the rear footrest on the LT but on the RT goes to the two BMW tragkorb rail points. On my Ks I found the rear footrests extremely hard to get off so have a go at these well in advance of trying to fit them. The final mount position is further forward on the LT.

Hi, yeah I have the rails and tragkorbs and the kit. I had a quick go at putting them on but got lost with the stay that goes through the cowl. I didn't want to enlarge or make any holes in the wrong place so it got put on hold.
Rear foot rests came of easy on my bike.
