Help w/Pix please!
« on: December 21, 2015, 12:13:12 AM »
I can't figure out how to put a picture in a PM, original or reply.  Clicking on MonaLisa brings up:

But I can't seem to get a foto (JPEG) into it!

Now, on this post (not a PM of course) it seems to work fine.  There's an Attach: box below the message pane and my foto popped right into it. Now to hit Post...

There are two ways to post images in forum threads—Attach: and Mona Lisa—but Lisa is apparently the only method for PM. To get Lisa's help, I think your photos need to be on a host like Dropbox, Photobucket, or imgur.com—whichever seems easiest for you to use. Once you've done that, you copy then drop the image url there between the img brackets here and BINGO. If you ever close that account, the images you've posted on MOTOBRICK disappear. It's all pretty much alchemy.

OK, got it.  You can't put a picture in a PM, only instructions on how to find it.

Since I don't use any of those web hosting services, I can only put pix in regular posts.

Thanks for the info

You've almost got it. If you put the instructions—the image's specific url on the hosting site—in your PM between Mona Lisa's img brackets, the image will appear in the PM.

It's all faith-based, of course, kind of like traveling the world on your K-bike laden with tools, spare parts and geo-locating equipment and expecting not to have the whole darn rig crushed by a two hundred pound chunk of frozen human waste dropped by an airliner from thirty thousand feet while you were on your satellite phone a couple of yards away calling MAXBMW to complain about a parts mixup.  :2thumbup:

now... should i put it in my tank bag or side bag or iconic 22 liter...

if i put it in my tank bag and it got stolen by a sasquatch i would be f-ed... butts if i lost my 22 liter a hundert miles ago and didnt know until it was too late id be f-ed... if i ratchet strap my side bag on and it leaked water i would be f-ed... if i put it in my chest pocket my heart would be getting overly radiated... if i put it in my left cargo pants pocket i would have to relocate my spare magazines and my weed...

humm... more later...
