Where To Mount The Horn

Got the fairings off, the headlight cockpit trim panel on with the headlight and front turn signals working. Now I need to decide where to mount my horn. I have decided that the stock 1992 K75 RT 2 horn system will not work (they do sound good) so I am going to mount a Wolo Air Horn. I also bought a used eBay K100 3 piece radiator shroud with the two side trim panels. Actually only one side panel came with the front shroud 9which they no longer make and they are no longer available except from the guy in China-seriously) but the side trim panels are still available so I ordered one. As soon as I paint them to match the rest of the bike I will attach them, and then I will complete the project by mounting the horn after you tell me where to mount it. Then I will post photos.

I made a bracket up to go between the two tapped holes on the lower triple tree and mounted mine there.

Due to the fact that my bike is a K75S I was unable to get a shot that would be of any help without removing my fairing. All you need to do is run a piece of aluminium or steel angle between the two tapped holes on the lower triple tree. I have taken a couple of picture of the angle I used which I got from the local council recycle (Dump ), I just buy brackets that might come in handy . The bracket is 5.25" x 1.75" x 2".

The Wolo Air Horn is a clone of the Stebel Nautilus.  On my bike, I separated the annunciator from the pump,which then gets connected together with a rubber windshield washer hose.  I mounted the pump in the space by the air filter housing and the annunciator on the left side of the frame by the relay box.

I'm removing the fairings on my 1985 K100 RT to make a scrambler and that's exactly where I'm going to mount mine. I might try and make some kind of a cover to disguise them but even if I don't and they look dorky, I wasn't about to lose the power of the stock dual horns. Too many inattentive drivers out there.
