Thermostat alternative
« on: October 12, 2015, 05:30:58 PM »
Opened up the thermostat housing a few weeks ago and to my horror the thermostat must have dissolved!

Seriously I don't like the idea of running a bike without one, but I was surprised to find in the uk moto works/ bins are charging £30.

so following the link to the alternative moto rad one I sourced a 1989 Toyota Corolla 1.6 but when it arrived the large outer flange is too wide.  (This might just be a slight variation with the motorad one)

I can't find a motorad one in the UK does anyone have another option for thermostat within the UK ?

Thanks

Hmm, I must have asked a stupid question.................?

Problem solved by obvious solution, I just removed 1.5 mm all the way round made sure edges were nice and smooth and it's a perfect fit

If anyone needs one in the UK it was a Motaquip VTK6
