A few days ago I posted about the crappy Firstgear Mesh Tex 2 jacket I bought slightly used on ebay. Since the buyer won't take it back I'm going to see if my mom can sew the inner and outer layers together so the armor will stay in place.
At any rate, the slightly used Fieldsheer Highland textile suit that I bought arrived today.

Lincoln our tuxedo Manx-mix seems to like it already and I haven't ridden with it yet.
I figured it would fit me fine being a medium but I put it on and immediately thought that the upper part felt just about right but that the pant legs were too long. I got googling about having a tailor alter motorcycle gear but decided to try sitting on the bike and come to find out everything fit just right :2thumbup: . It's weird how like the knee armor will fit way below your knee while standing but goes into place when on the bike.
Not pictured is the removable collar extension. The thermal liner is in two pieces so you can use the upper or lower or both (or neither).
I think this suit is a few years old and out of production but the reviews I read on other forums were really good...with the vents open it seems to be fine riding into the 90s (though a touring fairing and that infamous K heat may make that irrelevant) and with the liners it seems to be fine for riding in 15f weather. It has a tiny bit of soiling on the outside but it doesn't smell bad, isn't damaged, and seems like a good deal for $90. I've wanted something better than wearing my PVC rain suit when its in the 40's (and below) and I think this'll serve well. I'll keep posting as the temperatures drop.
Any experience with Fieldsheer gear? It seems to be moderately priced and of pretty good quality.
