K75 low seat
« on: September 29, 2015, 04:37:19 PM »
A friend has a new to him 95 K75 that he can't get the  low seat off. Is there a way to trip the mechanism?

There's a (lockable) lever under the left side of the seat about halfway back. it connects to a rod that unlatches the FRONT of seat (not the rear, like most every other bike). Pull the lever, lift the front of the seat and the whole thing comes off (no hinge).

The lockable lever moves freely as if nothing is hooked up. What tool applied in what direction will trip the latch?

Brick is hme, I'm at work. I can't remember if it's a push or pull. Let me look tonight and see if there's a finger hole or something above the battery where you can reach the rod.

Pull the tank pad back, left side . Reach up above the battery, the rod is just inside the frame rail. Pull toward the rear to release the latch.
If it's disconnected or not there, with your right hand index finger, reach forward and up toward the gas tank. Feel around for the latch lever (where the rod would connect) and pull toward the rear. Once you get the seat off, it will be easy to see what needs fixin.
