New fuel rail fitted
Injectors test and all OK, but one of them had a big piece of crap in it.
Valve clearances all within tolerence.
New fuel filter fitted.
Throttle bodies balanced, and away we go

Bike is running great again.
A couple of things I've noticed since the new engine has been fitted (the unit I bought has a warranted 10,420 miles)
It no longer smokes on a cold start up, even when left on the side stand.
The last engine did, no matter how warm the ambient temperature.
The fan cut's in way earlier than before.
On the old engine, it didn't come on till the needle was touching the red zone, which was quite un nerving.
On this one, it comes on long before, which is a relief as I was thinking about fitting a manual override switch,
Definitely no need now.
It's great to have the old brick running again.
It's cost me a small fortune, and there were times I had doubts, but back out on the road, any sense of remorse evaporates.
This is a great bike, and was worth saving.
Here she is having just arrived at my home after being picked up from the garage, waiting me to refit the bodywork.

Way to go..... Good to hear you are back on 2 wheels again. Yes, it makes for very good therapy, better than a shrink...... :hehehe

Re the fan cut-in, that is basically the water temp sensor in the coolant riser tube behind the radiator. The old one could have has some mineral buildup on it that could have skewed the sensitivity/accuracy of it, hence the real importance of using DISTILLED water when changing the coolant.
