Drive shaft/ swingarm 50mm extension
« on: October 20, 2014, 11:31:15 AM »
Hi there,
I'm having a 50mm extension block made from billet T6 alloy (The proper stuff) for my project and wondered if there is anyone who has contemplated this mod before and is still interested in doing it...???? If so now is your chance to grab a bargain and get the job done. Extending the drive shaft itself is the easy bit, the swingarm stays as it is. Its a true bolt on modification and a sinch to do. If there are interested parties get in touch asap as I'm about to order a batch to be made.

Regards Mez

May I ask why you want to extend the swingarm? No offence intended just curious ;)

The K's already have a pretty long wheelbase, and not enough power to regularly wheelie. Not sure the use on this.

How do you plan to extend the driveshaft? I'm sure Bruno could do it. You can't just leave the spline cup less engaged, it will be quickly damaged.

No offence taken bud, where offroad purposes are concerned the wheelbase left us a tad short, the build is looking at off piste capabilities, loose adventure trail's etc. The 50mm has enhanced the geometry and overall look of the rough build and the reason I posted is becaused this is not a new concept for 75's, there are dozens that have been built and I know others that are under construction same as mine....!! there is the added bonus that it keeps the cost down for me if I get more than one made or am I  :beatdeadhorse:  here...!!! :bang-head:

I'm curious on the drive shaft extension. Do you extend the center part? Or is it on the rear end?

You could also look into using a paralever rear end: they extend the wheelbase slightly, and improve the suspension a good deal.

+1.  Swapping to a Paralever will extend the wheelbase by about 50mm, and will improve the handling greatly.
