88 k 75 haywire

When riding my 88k75s home from work last, a most strange thing happened.  It started fine, then I
Stopped at the store.  It started ok but lights and turn signal would not work, and fan motor would not
Go off.  When I turned ignition key off, the engine would shut off but starter kept turning.  I had to disconnect ground on battery to stop starter.
