Being the kind of guy who just can't not f with things, I bought some type 1.3 injectors for my K100. Instead of the single pintle they have 4 little spray ports. Simply put, the next generation of Bosch injectors, probably what k1200s use. The ones I bought are spec'd for early 90s Audi cars. Flow rate is slightly more than stock K100 injectors, and resistance is slightly lower (14 ohm vs. 16 ohm), but still technically high impedance.
I did a similar injector swap in my Alfa 164, and the 1.3's give it a smoother idle and make the throttle response feel a bit more immediate. That's on a Motronic system with O2 sensors and closed loop control, so the system limits any enrichment. On the K100 I will use a 3.0 bar FPR and expect to get a bit of enrichment (above stoichiometric), so possibly will see a slight power increase.
Mostly it's just an opportunity to play...
