Rear Brake Pads
« on: June 21, 2013, 05:45:30 PM »
A little confused with the different brake pad compounds. I'm looking for brake pads for my 1995 K75 Beemer. I'm a very conservative rider and fear buying pads that will chew up my rear rotor. Please recommend pads and where I can purchase, of course, for a good price. thanks

Well, if you don't want your rotor worn as fast, go for "organic" or "kevlar" compound pads. They will have no metalic compound in them.
Your rotor will still wear, just not quite as fast, and you will most likely have more brake dust to be keeping cleaned off of your wheels.
There are many places to get them.
You can find them on flea-bay, probably cheaper than from your local stealer.

I've used BMW pads for the last 20k on my bike, no wear issues on the rotor. Previous owner used BMW pads. 78,000m on the bike.
