Just looking back a last pix from last years departure prep..

Looking forward to June 11 to hit the road for a month or so.  Here's my Ellie in ready to ride kit.

Is that bicycle really strapped onto the back of your motorcycle?   Cool, how far are you able to ride like that?  Seems like it would substantially change the center of gravity up and back.?

CoG you can get used to (up to a point).  I'm wondering about cross-winds!

Yup!  that's my other obsession.   It rides totally fine back there. A human passenger is WAY more disruptive than this. Weight is a non issue as its total including the "rack" is less than 30 lbs. I put MUCH more weight in my topcase on my LT...I can feel it wiggle bit on bumpy roads.  X winds are a non issue. Even on I10 across TX and NM.  Oklahoma is probably the only stretch I've ever had close to an issue.  But that was enough wind that any moto had a problem.  It sits right behind me, more or less "in my draft".   I'll do 5-7000+ miles in a summer with this setup.  My GF lives in P-cola FL and my brother in La Jolla CA.

I set it up the same way on my KLR when Im driving to rides in my area (Wash DC metro)

This kind of thing is fairly common in Europe but not totally unusual here.

You can buy a ready made rack  here.....   http://2x2cycles.com/

but I made mine for about $15...

Its great for a conversation starter with the sunshine day bagger dudes at gas stops!  Especially running through LA while showing Virginia tags!     :riding:

I hate to beat a dead horse, but is there any chance you could get us a diagram or some close up pictures of how you made your rack (definitely can not afford a pre-made one. $289?!?!)? I will be doing a trip to northern Wisconsin and would love to take both of my "cycles." Thank you very much.
