I'm planning on swapping motor and trans
can they be removed together without removing paralever assy
about how much time to do the swap
the wife is  trying to take over the garage for garbage sales(waste of time with little or no return)
anyone done it in a weekend

...No not really, paralever attaches to tranny...figure days not hours. I 'swapped' frames on an LT,(that was weeks, on an off) and lubing the trans. input spline alone is measured in hours.  It may not be as difficult since your steering/head isn't affected, but its a lot of wires, pipes, and engine accessories to switch over.

I'm going to do it this summer, as well as a refresh of the newish engine. The factory manual procedure is to actually remove the trans/centerstand/FD/Wheel assembly from the frame and engine, then pull the engine out with a factory engine stand that bolts to the top of the engine. The rear of the frame is held on a stand, and the front end remains together.

I was thinking about this the other day.  Why can't you just take the front end off the bike (tires, fork and clamps), take the tank off, remove the exhaust brackets and lift the frame off from the engine/transmission/swing arm. 


It would seem to me that the frame can be unbolted from the engine and lifted off.

It can be. Its a spine frame.
