K100 RS tank fuel lines

hi and a happy easter( belated ) i am patiently waiting for a fuel level sensor to arrive from UK. In the meantime i have taken the old fuel lines out of the tank to renew. problem is nobody can assure me as to what type of 8mm line is suitable for immersion in petrol. some say this and some say that. is a nylon line ok? i need some help on this please.

If you purchase the needed hose from the BMW dealer, you probably won't go wrong.  Or, if you are a thrifty sort, try Motobins. ;-)

I found this to be a rare bargain from BMW. The BMW in-tank hose is priced by the meter. Or at least it was when I bought a meter of it a few months ago. Check the parts fiche for your favorite online dealer very carefully, and call to be sure. I've bought various parts online from Bob's, Max, and Chattanooga and found them all to be quite satisfactory.

The list price from BMW for a meter of that hose (about $22, from memory?) was less than NAPA's price for a foot (about $26).

Problem is im in Cape Town. The B  M  W dealer here tells me ok its a 3 week wait. Parts come from Germany. Also we dont have a sophisticated dealer network. I cant go   here or there. The hose dealers guess when i ask whether their product can be immersed in petrol

Look for hose meeting the SAE 30R10 specification, such as this: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/GAT0/27093/N0887.oap?ck=Search_N0887_GAT_-1_-1&mn=Gates&mc=GAT&pt=N0887&ppt=C0222

(If you're tempted to order that one, note that it is 12 inches long. I've found you want more like 14-16 inches for the in-tank tubing.)
