Small Fairing Question

Found this picture earlier today. Love the small aftermarket fairing. Anyone have an idea who makes it?

The guys over at ADV have told me it's off of a r80 or r65st.

It actually works pretty well, if you tuck down behind it.  Nothing like the road barge parked next to it, though.  I had to trade the barge off last fall...

That's your beast?  What a cool little fairing!  How did you do that?
That looks better than any other small fairing that I have seen on a K75.
The guys over at ADV are correct. It is an OEM option for a R80.
Combine that with the low bars from a "S" and you should have a slick set up.

I still have the clock and volt meter from my old boxer.
I think it would be cool to use the fairing from a R90S on a K75, then I could use the clock and
stuff that is just collecting dust. Looks like it would be a PITA to install the fairing though.

The bike was wrecked at one point.  I would assume that this was a cheaper alternative to the stock fairing.  It's not perfect, it has a crack on the right side.  It also has a "bar" that it bolts too, I'm not sure if it's stock or just "worked".  Or if it was original.  It shares the top bolts on the back of the gauges, then has two tabs that the fairing bolts go through.  It also has ends that stick out with threaded holes at either end.  I assume that it may be for the bigger fairing :dunno2:.

It's nice, once you remove 2 back bolts, it is hinged and just folds down nicely out of the way.  It's also big enough to hide my Mercedes dual freeway blaster horns (cool junkyard score).

I have toyed with the idea of some sort of small windshield, but it's really comfy laying down on the tank tucked back behind it.  It's surprisingly protective to just drop behind it as you meet a semi in heavy winds.

I'm not totally sure just what bars are on it.  They are pretty narrow and low.  At some point someone added some spacers to bring them up a bit.  I may get rid of them to drop them back down at some point, but it's pretty comfy right now.

I even got to take it for a short ride yesterday afternoon. :2thumbup:

Your kidding? You have horns tuck in behind all of that?  How about some pictures of how it mounts and the horns from the Benz?

I did some research. That little fairing is over two bills new. That is a little much, but it is an OEM part:)

I forget what model the horns were out of, but it was big and fancy.  One is a 400hz and the other is a 500hz.  They are wired directly with relays and triggered by the old horn circuit.  Plenty loud :yow if you're not expecting it.  They were a tight fit, and would only fit just so, but everything clears.

Someone may be able to say if the headlight and mount are supposed to go with the fairing, or if they are original K stuff.  The horns are just mounted to the headlight ears.

And I was mistaken in my above post, that bar isn't on the back of the gauges, it shares the top triple clamp mounts with the top of the headlight mounting bracket.

Wow, I figured you might just take pics the next time that you were servicing the bike. You were very accommodating.
I have not found any listings for this fairing on a K bike, so I looked at the part listings for a 1983 R80 ST and your hardware does not seem to match it.
Maybe the R 65 hardware is closer.

Home job or stock OEM, you have a very cool set up. Lucky stiff.

Love mine too. I wanted a "S" or a naked in silver or white with a low seat and three spoke wheels. Took me about 3 or 4 months to find what I wanted. The owner even delivered.
