Cooling fan question...
« on: January 08, 2013, 05:33:04 PM »
Hi, new to the site but have already picked up some great tips from the group.  I have a 1987 K75 with 50k miles on it, runs great and I love it!!  However, the cooling fan motor was completely fried when I got the bike so I have taken the whole assembly off and am looking for a replacement that is not quite so expensive as the Bosch unit.  Does anyone know if there is a fan out there from Honda or some other company that would fit the K75 mounts?

Thanks,
1987 K75

Try here http://www.euromotoelectrics.com/BMW-Motor-Radiator-Fan-K-models-1983-1995-p/fan-k427m.htm.  I don't have any personal experience with this but I though you might want to look.

The cheapest thing on a BMW is the nut that connects the seat to the handlebars.

I believe the fan and motor is the same as one for an AC condenser to some porsches and other cars. Check the alternate parts list.

Beemerboneyard has the motor too - also $79 bucks - ships to Canada too - they were fast and awesome for my replacement motor.
