Missing rear wheel spacer?

Are the rear wheel spacers something that you'd easily see? When I lubed my clutch and driveshaft splines I remembered reading to watch for the spacer and not to misplace it but I definitely didn't see one fall off when I removed the rear wheel and put it back on after the spline job.

Does it matter that I have a rear drum brake?

I got thinking about this because the previous owner said the Lasertecs had like 1500 miles but the rear tire seems to be fairly squared off already.

Instead of being a forum n00b I decided to search and found this...I'll try doing this check on the bike this weekend

greetings f14crazy...

it is thin and has the same 5 hole pattern as the wheel... 4 holes on the outer ring + big hole in the middle... can easily stick to the wheel... can easily stick to the final drive... or fall off of both without notice... it is important to use at least 1 because as the tior getts hott and flexes it can rubb the swing arm...

i have run 1 and 2 and 3 and as many as 4 spacers... just f-ing around with tior wear...

It's my understanding of the parts diagrams, the spacer that Johnny showed above is only on bikes with disk brakes.
There is no spacer with drum brakes.
